Algunas curiosidades:
a) Los “Patitos de Goma” empezaron a existir a finales de 1800, aunque su popularidad se disparó con la aparición en Barrio Sésamo en 1970, en la que un patito de goma era uno de las “propiedades” preferidas de Epi, el bajito miembro de la sospechosamente inseparable pareja Epi y Blas.
b) En 1971, debido a su aparición en el programa, la canción de “Patito de Goma” llegó a la posición 16 del Billboard Americano.
c) En enero de 1992, un carguero perdió a causa de una tormenta 29.000 patitos de goma y similares. Atravesando incluso el Círculo Polar llegaron a Australia, América del Sur e Inglaterra.
d) Es bastante común hacer “carreras” de patitos de goma con fines benéficos: La gente contribuye con su “patito numerado” y se “lanzan” todos a un río o corriente. El primero que llega a una “meta”, gana.
